Having sophisticated interactions with my peers and Professor McClure never fails to amaze me. I always seem to come out with new knowledge and a better understanding. It is as if I am a whole new person every time. Today, I realized there are many different topics about animal science I have not yet been exposed to in this course. My peers and I even discussed similar struggles that we have been experiencing during our research process. One particular struggle everyone had was finding credible and recent sources. We all agreed that this was difficult due to the fact that we needed to find research articles that were related to our topics and beliefs, which was not always the case. On top of that, some sources appeared to be useful, but ended up being too mathematically or scientifically confusing or were not even slightly related to our area of interest. Zixuan Du specifically spoke about his struggles with this, so I suggested that he should try using the "Ask a Librarian" feature. I have first hand experience with this resource and found it to be extremely helpful when I was attempting to discover scholarly articles about dog intelligence.
Additionally, every student announced their topic of interest such as dolphin cognition, wolf social structure, chimp intelligence, orca cognition, and elephant intelligence. I was surprised by the variety of topics and the research sources found. There is truly a lot of information about animal science I am currently not aware of. After that, Professor McClure quickly reviewed our big three sources and gave us some advice we could include or change in our annotations to increase the sophistication. Overall, this zoom was very useful and I plan on incorporating the tips that were discussed in the meeting.

I am in the top left corner with my video turned on.
